"My first motivation for a healthy lifestyle was the obvious health benefits and the notion that I would rather invest the time and money at this point in my life instead of years down the line. I no longer have to face the serious health consequences I was heading towards when I was 45.5 pounds heavier. My secondary motivation is my mother. My mother was such a positive influence in my life and made me promise to keep up my work towards my goal. My mother passed away in May, and every day when I work for this healthy lifestyle, I think of her. Every time I meet a new milestone I am proud to know that my mom is excited for me as well."

"The diagnosis of type 2 diabetes during a recent physical was my wake up call. Also, an article in the Grand Rapids Press featured a Rockford man who was successful in losing approximately 170 lbs. through diet and exercise. I decided that if he could do it, then so could I. I have gone from 327 lbs. to 240 lbs. since December, and intend to lose another 30 pounds. I haven’t felt this good in many years! My personal trainer, Ryan Iott, has been a great motivator. He helped me achieve these results even though I am 60 years old. When we started I wasn’t sure I could do it, but he encouraged me and convinced me I could. I will never allow myself to go back to my old habits."
